Even A LEGO Star Wars Game Needs Voice Actors

Just because none of the characters in LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars actually talk doesn’t mean they don’t employ high calibre voice talent. They just grunt a lot.

The cast from the hit animated television show Star Wars: The Clone Wars reprise their roles in LEGO Star Wars III, only there’s no script, because they never actually say a word. Here are Matt Lanter as grunting Anakin Skywalker, Ashley Eckstein as grunting Ahsoka Tano, and Dee Bradley Baker as the grunting clones.

Capturing the subtle emotional nuances of a character is hard enough when you’re speaking. I can only imagine how much harder it is when all you can do is grunt. I’d go on, but the only place I can take this from here is a dirty place you don’t want to see.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars hits every platform on March 22.
