Uncharted 3 Fortune Hunters’ Club Is Your Ticket To Discounted DLC

Eschewing the generic Season Pass label many games are using to package together downloadable content, Sony and Naughty Dog opt for the much classier Fortune Hunters’ Club to give Uncharted 3 fans a discounted price on upcoming DLC.

Available now for preorder on the PlayStation Store and at select video game retailers, the Uncharted 3 Fortune Hunters’ Club allows players to drop $US24.99 on more than $US45 worth of downloadable Drake goodness. Drop the cash entitles the player to the first four multiplayer map packs and the first three skin packs, the first of which is due out next month following the game’s November 1 release. Players will also score an exclusive Fortune Hunters’ Club theme, and will be alerted to new DLC releases via messages on the PlayStation 3’s XMB.

That, and they’ll be in a club! Who doesn’t enjoy being in a club?

  • No thanks. I only play Uncharted for the single player. Despite now having all the MP DLC thanks to PS+ for the sequel I still haven’t booted it up once.

Funny, I tried the MP betas out for the titles but when the time comes to play the game the MP doesn’t interset me at all.

    • +1
like Uncharted 2, the only real time i’ll be online is for trophies and any commmunity events that may be going on. Uncharted is really a SP game and i dont feel like putting time into MP, especially seeing how there are other big names coming out that month as well, not to mention i have a large shame pile to get through as well.

It’s a good thing for those that are considering buying the DLC, but not nearly for those who dont have much interest or are unsure about it.

If season passes are going to be a bigger thing for the coming years, it would be nice to see more integration with psn+, as i’m sure many will find over time, their money is going all over the place without any real reward for doing so.

  • I honestly think this is something all companies should do when they have DLC plans. It’s like how Telltale sold the Back to the Future episodes, or the way magazine subscriptions work. Only if they are absolutely sure they’ll be releasing the DLC though – imagine if Capcom had done the same thing for MvC3 DLC characters.
