  • I will definitely pick up a few of thse, but how about some more Wii games eg Muramasa, Demon Blade, Sin and Punishment 2, Excite Bots, or Boy & His Blob?

    • Usually cheapskate gamer is a bit time consuming to write, so I focus on PC/PS3/Xbox more than Nintedno games because that’s what people are more interested in. I will try to focus on Nintendo a bit more though 🙂

  • Not really impressed with this post, dude. Yes, we know Oz Game Shop provides us with immensely cheaper games, you don’t need to write a whole list up about it linking each game to the same site, an article stating the best place for cheaper games would have been better; I also believe it’s been done.

    • I’m guessing you’re new to this site, hey?

Either that of you’re just not that bright…

      Possibly both!

      • Be nice loops 😛
Oliver, Cheapskate Gamer is a weekly article pointing out which games are on sale, and cheaper than usual. It’s not a one off article comparing online game stores 🙂

        • Lol, I’m an avid reader of the blogging site; though somehow this particular series of articles seems to have kept itself hidden from me. I apologise for being too quick to jump the gun, I was a bit hasty in my assessment, sorry.

Chuloppa, probably a little presumptuous to assume that my actions are based on either sheer stupidity- or that I’m just a noob, I understand where you’re coming from though. My understanding was just that this page was spamming all of the prices from Oz Game Shop, when it could have simply mentioned that within another related post without having to post a whole list of games solely for one page, my bad.

lambomann007, thankyou for pointing out my flaw without being condescending in any way. It’s really appreciated!

          • Not lambo’s fault that Ozgameshop just happens to be the cheapest place to get games at the moment. I’ve seen versions of this article that are pretty much just Zavvii.

          • Loops, I appreciate you standing up for me, I really do, it’s just that you came across as being a little rude yourself.

          • I honestly didn’t mean to cause this much friction or animosity between any of us, sorry guys.

Chuloopa, in all fairness I could have worded myself better and more professionally and I’m aware I came off as the party pooper of the group that had to put a negative on it, and for that I’m sorry. I don’t think I was being downright rude though; at least to me I would envision someone who calls the author of this article a douche for absolutely no reason when they’re only doing their job, that would have been rude of me If I had done so. I would say I was being more critical than needed. Again, I’m sorry for the trouble earlier; I probably just woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

McGarnical, I guess my point was just that if they’re all from Oz Game shop, why not keep it brief and concise? State that they’re all from Oz Game Shop from the start, I kind of felt like I wasted my time looking through each one individually hoping to find somewhere even better than Oz Game Shop ( As good as it is ) It would have saved me a little time is all; it could have even been placed along with another article in close enough relevance if summarised. Anyway, it really doesn’t bother me as much as I lead people to believe earlier, I was just bored and anxious and for that I truly do humbly apologise.

          • Yeah, i’m quite sorry too. I jumped the gun, to be honest

It’s just i know how hard Lambo works on these things, and to be honest i’m kind of over seemingly random people commenting on articles with stuff like “omg this is so stupid, why bother etc”.

I know now this was not your intent, and to be fair i was a bit cranky this afternoon, when i’m usually anything but.

So yeah, i’m really sorry, and i feel like kind of a dick now. :s lol

          • I know exactly what you mean, dude. It’s like whenever I come across Luke Plunkett’s articles, I’m always coming across people complaining about his content and how little he can sometimes write. But news is news, regardless of how much it ”appears” he gives, some may like short bursts of news. A picture is 1,000 words.

Lambo, I didn’t actually realise you were the author of this page. Regardless, I commend you for the effort you put into it.

          • Thanks 🙂
Don’t worry, everyone has their bad days. I’m glad we were able to sort this out in a civil way =)

  • I’d much rather best store prices, as I still like to shop in person. Everyone already knows games are cheap from online stores. bring back Game, jb hi-fi, etc prices!

    • I’m not responsible for those articles. Mark/Tracey should start doing those articles again sometime soon though 🙂

      • It would be good if someone could produce up to date like for like retail comparisons because it put the pressure on retailers and give people a go-to guide on price matching

Sometimes on older games your just happy to wait for a really good local special you know – not that I need to be buying any more games ATM – Xmas probably went a bit overboard – I’ve got the next 6 months of amusement lined up over here!

    • I’m very nearly SOLD too, but I have a slight dilemma. Do I go ahead and get it for xbox or wait and see if they port it PC? WAT DO??

      • It’s going to be the same basic game, except – MAYBE – with an improved framerate in two places in the game world where the consoles can’t really handle it. The framerate drop is noticeable but it’s not that bad as the areas it really hits don’t have many enemies.

  • Anyone know how OzGameShop handle the Xbox Live Gold cards? Do they send you the code via email or ship the piece of cardboard?

  • Zavvi has Rayman Origins PS3 for £14.95 (AU$22.00 + $1.50 shipping) Dispatched in a week, sure beats the $89.00 i see in jb, Eb games and Game.

  • I would also like to see this column split between “online retail” and “bricks and mortar retail” as I, like NotheMama, also like to shop in person if there’s a half-decent bargain about. If that’s not too much work Lambo! 😛

    • You people. You’re trying to work me to death, right? 😛
I’ll look into it. It may not happen though. I’m not sure how EB/Game/JB online prices compare to instore prices, I would assume they are the same, but I’m not sure about specials and stuff. This requires research! If I did end up doing this, it’d probably be in it’s own article, otherwise this one might get a little on the large side…

      • When games start getting released again, I’ll put a retail section under the New Releases part for where you can get the new games cheapest in brick and mortar stores 🙂
