Doom Is Back Up On Xbox Live

Doom, one of the progenitors of the first-person shooter genre, has returned to the Xbox Live Marketplace after a mysterious three-month hiatus. The classic PC title is available for 400 Microsoft Points ($5).

The game was removed in October with no explanation from Bethesda Softworks, the current rights-holder to the game (as the parent compabny of id Software, Doom's maker.) Licensing and publication rights seeped into the intrigue behind the game's three-month absence. Whatever the case, it's back again.

Doom [Xbox Live Arcade]

One of the best games on XBLA. Glad to see that it's back.

I think it's a great version of Doom, plays really well. Never got multiplayer to work properly though. Too much lag.

It appears to be counted as a seperate title from the original, in that I brought it the first time it was on XBLA but deleted it to save some space on my old console. I've upgraded to a slim since then, and I tried to download the new version so I could play DOOM again, but it's asking me to pay for it.

You should still be able to access the game via your download history in the account section.

Trust me, I already tried that. My download history has DOOM right there, all the way near the bottom, but downloading it from there only gives me the trial for this re-release.

You will have to transfer the dlc licenses for all dlc content you bought on your former xbox over to your new xbox slim. As it stands M$ will not recognise you as the owner of the dlc until you do.
Oh, if you have already done this, just disregard my waffling on. lolz.

I would contact Ms if I was you. They might be able to do something for you.
