PC Gamers looking to get a hold of Skyrim’s 1.4 update can get it earlier than expected. By enabling Steam’s beta access you can download the 1.4 update right now in fact.
For those who may not know how, all you need to do is follow these simple instructions:
Log into Steam
Click on Steam in the upper menu
Select Settings
Under the Account tab, go to the Beta Participation section and select Change.
A drop down menu will appear. Select Skyrim Beta.
Select OK.
Steam will now restart. After Steam restarts, Skyrim will be updated to the Beta version currently available. You’re version of Skyrim should then proceed to download the 1.4 update.
For those that may not know, the 1.4 update contains a host of bug and balanced fixes, as well as the much anticipated Creation Kit. This means that modders will be able to release bigger and better mods in the future.

Akra, that is better written than 99% of Lukes articles, please comment on his articles from now on, because you did a much MUCH better job than he does, and you’re doing it for free while he slacks off for money.

How dare you show how much they’re coasting by with singular sentence posts! Fo’ shame.

Lol Luke would it have hurt to add a couple of extra sentences and not seem like a complete unprofessional?

I just wanted to add that 1.4 renders SkyBoost and TESV Accelerator obsolete (http://www.kotaku.com.au/2011/12/mod-boosts-skyrim-performance-by-up-to-40-per-cent-could-be-faster/), while also improving on their performance-increasing effects. So kudos to Bethesda for sorting that out.

Finally the Creation Kit.
Hopefully some good mods will get me interested in Skyrim again. -

Is this the patch that fixes all of Skyrims bugs and balances the skills so one can play however they want without becoming an over-powered god?

Get a BETA Bethesda patch? I think not! There are more than enough bugs in their release patches.
