The Next Assassin's Creed Game Will Be Set In...Brazil?

Ubisoft Brazil managing director Bertrand Chaverot has reportedly told local site techtudo that the next game in the publisher's blockbuster series will be taking place in the South American nation.

That's about all he says, with no further details, but GameSpot says they've verified the translation, which is interesting. You've got to wonder whether he meant the entire game would take place there, or just parts, like Assassin's Creed III, which had a single stage go down in a Brazilian train station.

It's also unclear whether the "next chapter" he mentions taking place in Brazil would be a major console title or, say, a spin-off like the PlayStation Vita game released earlier this year.

While we're on the subject of Brazil, the bulk of the interview actually deals with an apology from Ubisoft to Brazilian fans of the series, who were upset at the seedy portrayal of their country in that train station stage, in which everyone was dressed badly and spoke with dodgy Portugese accents.

We've contacted Ubisoft for clarification on Chaverot's comments, and will update if we hear back.

I thought that train scene segment of AC3 was a pretty accurate depiction of Brazil.

But than again my knowledge of South America culture comes from independant films I watch on World Movies on Foxtel.

A Mayan Assassins Creed could be interesting, I guess.

Bollocks! I was hoping for Asia!

u and me both buddy ...
assasin need to know kung fu !!! :P
or a ninja ,-- well they are like ninjas

Something outside of feudal Japan would be best I think. There are already plenty of games set in that era.

Really? i haven't seen many open world games set in feudal japan.

It should be set in the prehistoric era. You play a caveman who has to climb up the neck's of Brontosaurus'. I tells ya it's a winner.

sorry the simpson already done that !

I'm pretty sure the Flintstones got there first..........

In fact, wasn't there that one episode where Fred gets hit on the head and.........

oh did u mean this ?

BWAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

            +1 internets to you Sir!
            This made my day:D

aren't AC games meant to be moving forward in time? Also what major turning point in history happened in brazil?

    no no no no no
Enough of the same crap. Time for new games. Yes?

as much as i love assassin's creed, I totally agree with what you have said, we need something new

The only part that one fun for me in AC3 were the naval battles. Perhaps they could give a pirate game a go.

I hope we stick with Connor again. He's a wise assassin who has now learned that life isn't so black and white, so it'd be interesting to see where he goes next. Especially given that he had achieved very little by the end of his story.

Following the pattern from Assassin's Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations, there's plenty of room for Conner to head south in the span of Assassin's Creed III.333 and III.666...

Assassins Creed taking place during the Paraguayan War would be cool!

If they're insistent on continuing Assassin's Creed, can we have a game that lets you play from the Templar point of view?
