Volition has been teasing some reveal at PAX East, but it’s stepping up the teasing on Twitter and Facebook, with a new teaser trailer hitting this morning.
The text from the official Facebook says:
In the next Saints Row game from Deep Silver Volition, you are _____________, and you have ___________, and there are __________. The first fans to guess one of the answers correctly will get a copy of said game when it is released! What do you think the answers are? Sound off in the comments! 😀
The release date is August 20 for current-gen consoles and PC. The description for the YouTube video reads:
“Saints Row IV™ – From the Crack House to the White House
The ball-busting next chapter in the Saints Row franchise, is starting a party in your pants this August.
Developed by Volition, Saints Row IV will launch on current-gen consoles and PC on August 20, 2013, in North America and August 23, 2013, in the rest of the world.”
This teaser looks a whole lot like the Enter the Dominatrix expansion that was in the works as an add-on and then shifted into a full-scale sequel. Here’s how that in-development chapter was described in a press release:
“Faster than a speeding cyber jetbike, more powerful than a roided-out Luchadore, able to leap flying aircraft carriers in a single bound… That’s the power you’ll find inside the Dominatrix. Use it for good. Use it for evil. Use it for whatever you want. As always in Saints Row, it’s up to you,” said Danny Bilson, Executive Vice President, Core Game Production, THQ Inc. “With a franchise with more than 11 million units shipped globally, it’s incredibly gratifying to have the flexibility to give Saints Row fans the features they want most.” He later added, “Freaking super powers.”
Volition was recently acquired by Deep Silver after the bankruptcy of THQ, the publisher where the series originated.
