Community Kudos

Hi everyone. I am tired. Two console launches within a week of one another has been hard on poor old Markie, and little Qball won't let his Daddy sleep in on weekends. Welcome to sleepy kudos where I try and stay awake before clocking off for the week. Hope you've had a good one and if you've bought a brand new console in the past week or so, I hope you're having a blast with it.

Kudos will be short this week, partly because of the afore-mentioned sleepiness, but mostly because the noms have been sparse. Actually I only got two this week!

The first one was from Tigerion. I really liked Tigerion's noms because they also included HaiTaku entries. I like HaiTaku entries because it means I don't have to spend ages in the morning trying to think of obscure games to confuse all the geniuses that take part in HaiTaku. It's hard work man.

Tigerion Just some noms for the HaiTaku god, wait what? Umm what is the point of this message, even I'm not sure
@shadow is a pretty cool guy. I've been noticing his comments around the site and they get a thumbs up from me. Seems to be staying calm in the console war, making some good points.
@Chuloopa A nom for chuloopa. Well actually can you send that as 2 half noms. Will make it easier to divide when his (recently formalised) wife leaves and takes half his stuff. Nice work little buddy.

Chuloopa is in the same boat as me. Somehow we managed to convince nice, good looking girls to marry us. Makes no goddamn sense at all.

Today's other nomination came from Redartifice...

Redartifice Community kudos noms for Freeze, for organising the TAY Secret Santa. I can't wait to send a present to [REDACTED] who should be expecting a [REDACTED] in the mail by [REDACTED]

Ahaha. Yes. I laughed out loud. Hysterically even. Sleep deprivation can lead to madness.

Yeah, Freeze. I think that's a good call. Organising these Secret Santa things is a lot of work, so that's well worthy of Kudos.

So it's settled. Freeze is the winner of this week's Community Kudos! Well done old bean!

Okay, I have to shoot off home to do stuff. Mainly lie in my bed in a catatonic state. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Community Kudos is your chance to reward Kotaku readers/posters who have done incredible things throughout the past week: sporadic acts of kindness, deft commenting skills — if someone deserves to be called out for being an incredible human being, Community Kudos is the place to do it. Send nominations directly to me at this address! The winner gets a cool prize from my massive box of stuff.*

Disclaimer — I'm am really bad at sending stuff out, I have a list, I haven't forgotten, I'm totally getting round to it. Sorry everyone!

    Sent these on Wednesday!

    Hey Mark,

Hope this day is treating you well!

I'd like to nominate @sughly. Honestly one of the nicest, best people I know. He's generous offering his pals rides to and from places. He's easy to talk to and makes you feel at ease. Plus he makes adventure games. What a guy!

Also @freezespreston, for inviting the Brisbane TAY contingent to his wife's birthday. Letting us all crash at his place. Supplying free drinks. Cooking for us. And just generally being an awesome guy. (Even if he did scar us for life by answering his front door in a towel. *cowers back and forward in fetal position*)

@jimu and @sernobulus too. These guys are some of those most valuable player types on TAY and Twitter that I think we take for granted, but awesome all the same.

Last up: @transientmind. The guy's had some troubles lately and has inspired everyone on TAY with his attitude and state of mind. Here's hoping life treats you kindly, friend!

Who am I kidding, I nominate all the Brisbane TAYbies for being the best people ever.

    Your pal,

    D.C.

I second the awesomeness of Brisbane TAYbies! Not that TAYbies from other states should be considered lesser TAYbies, cos they are equally awesome, but I have to give mad props to my fellow Brisbanites, cos they do get up to an aweful lot of goodness! So much I can barely keep up these days!!

Yeah, those Secret Santa things are a fair bit of work to organize. :(

Indeed it would be! Wish I could partake, but alas I cannot this year. Next year for sure!!
