This a week that is practically full of anime games! Also other stuff — normal non-kickstarting plebs can now buy Broken Age!
Broken Age (PC)
What is it? It’s the game that (arguably) made Kickstarter a big deal for video games!
Should you care? Yes. It’s an adventure game by one of the genuine masters of adventure games. I’m actually very keen to play this.
Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z (360/PS3/PS Vita)
What is it? A fighting game based on the Dragon Ball anime/manga. You know the drill.
Should you care? Strictly for fans really.
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm: Full Burst (360/PS3)
What is it? Ha! Another fighting game based on an anime/manga!
Should you care? I like this series but… I’m a big Naruto fan. I think you have to be to enjoy these games to be honest.
Octodad: Deadliest Catch (PC)
What is it? A game about an octopus masquerading as a human being. An actual genuine comedy game. Very rare.
Should you care? You should definitely care. This is very cool and kinda groundbreaking.
Strike Vector (PC)
What is it?
Should you care?
Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (Xbox One/PS4)
What is it? The DEFINITIVE EDITION of one of 2013 better AAA blockbusters.
Should you care? I think so. I actually quite like the idea of improved version of last gen games on new consoles. Especially if I missed out first time round. I’ve played the majority of this game, but I might double dip on this!

Oh man, saying I’m looking forward to Broken Age is an understatement. Didn’t back at the time for reasons despite being an adventure fan boy from way back, but @greenius totally gifted it to me for my birthday a week or so ago. What a guy!
Just 1 day and 19 hours left!
Loved the game! The art style is great, the music is awesome, and dialog is Schaferastic! Yes, that is a valid adjective, or at least, should be.
The weakness in the game is the puzzle complexity. They are relatively straight-forward. Difficulty is promised to ramp up in the second act, though, so the game as a whole should be satisfying on all levels. So when playing the first act, just enjoy the characters and adventure. Should take you about 2 – 5 hours to finish it, depending on how much you like to explore different reactions based on new items found.
I like the idea of HD/updated remakes of last gen games. Just normally somewhere halfway through a console cycle for people who missed it the first time.
Games like Shadow of the Colossus were perfect for it. Tomb Raider not so much.
I probably would’ve waited for Tomb Raider Definitive Edition if I knew it was going to exist. Riles me up slightly. (Though not much, since it was pretty great on the PC anyways.)
The definitive edition is just the “Now we can make it look like the PC version” version isn’t it?
Huge difference between next gen and pc version
From the videos I’ve seen it looked like the PC version running on a setting between high and ultra
Check out the article posted yesterday about the differences between all versions
I see what you did to strike vector.
Strike Vector looks cool. Wouldn’t mind giving it a try.
I played an Octodad Demo on PS4 in America, I had a smile on my face the whole time. It’s something that’s more fun on a controller, I just can’t see it being much fun on a keyboard/mouse.
I believe it’s Octodad: Dadliest Catch.
Respect the puns Serrels.
Anime games? 2014 is going to be a good year…
