Warner Bros has reportedly cancelled all upcoming DLC for Batman: Arkham Origins. Seems the poor Wii U just can’t catch a break.
Companies cancelling games (or failing to announce ports) for the console is bad enough, but not even bothering to bring over DLC? That’s some of the easiest money to be had in video games, and a sure sign that Warner is about as unhappy with the console’s performance as a third party can get.
Go Nintendo reports that the following email is being sent out to those who had already paid for a season pass for Arkham Origins:
Thanks so much for your support of Batman: Arkham Origins on Wii U.
We are contacting you today because you purchased the Batman: Arkham Origins Season Pass for Wii U. We hope you’ve been enjoying the content that has been delivered thus far. Based on demand for Downloadable Content on the system, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has made the decision to remove its offering of the upcoming new story campaign for Wii U. As a result, we will be crediting the entire $US19.99+tax cost of the Season Pass back to your Nintendo eShop account. You will still be able to enjoy the content already released thus far.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your support of the game.
Sincerely, Nintendo of America Inc.
So…you get your money back. There’s that, at least.
I wonder just how bad the demand really was for Warner to not even bother.
We’ve contacted Warner for comment, and will update if we hear back.

😀 Im loving it!
I love the Wii U. I wish more people would buythe thing.
Something differdifferent to my gaming pc and playstations
They won’t though. They will slam the Wii U and Nintendo with remarks that it’s the same IP recycled over on a new console, but go buy the latest COD/ Battlefield.
Anyone can see the Wii U is struggling, but like I have said before they need to focus on games and not winning this generation war. Aim for another GameCube, give the loyal base great IP’s so we will be there at launch to buy the next Nintendo console.
150% correct.
The other two sold less than the wii and are said to have won.
Success is whatever goal post you set. You could sell less a user base and make more money ie Steam.
Wow, it must be dire if it’s more financially viable to stop releasing DLC and give full season pass refunds. The fact that they’re happy to lose money, to take the financial, hit isn’t a good sign.
What’s bad about this is that Warner really are the last American holdout with the WiiU.
Could not give a **** about AAA ports for the Wii U.
Umm, good for you?
Are you… are you Nintendo?
I think my statement reflects the sentiments of most gamers or maybe I’ve just been imagining all those copies of Batman/Creed/Fifa lining JB’s bargain bins. Why work hard for content that nobody wants?
