Mighty No. 9 Gets An Animated Series And A New Crowdfunding Campaign

Having raised more than $US4 million to reincarnate Mega Man as a less stagnant property, Keiji Inafune’s Comcept doesn’t need more money to deliver the game they promised. They need more money to make it better, and so a new crowdfunding campaign is born.

Announced this weekend at Anime Expo alongside a shiny CD animated series (more on that shortly), the new Paypaal-based crowdfunding campaign for Mighty No. 9 is focused on developing bonus content for the game, while giving those that missed the initial campaign a chance to score pre-launch copies of the game and other digital goodies. Kickstarter-exclusive rewards will remain so, as not to alienate more timely fans.

So far the only stretch goal listed for the new campaign, now live on the game’s official webpage, is full English voice, which unlocks at $US100,000 in donations.

One thing the new crowdfunding campaign won’t being paying for is the development of the Mighty No. 9 animated series. Animation house Digital Frontier put together a teaser of their own volition, creating all of the art assets in-house. It looks rather lovely.
