At this weekend’s PAX Australia, fans got a first look at the first-person shooter module for Cloud Imperium’s Star Citizen in action. I think I’m going to be sick.
I have two things to say about the Illfonic-developed first-person shooter module’s demo debut. First, it’s dark. So very dark. Even the screens provided to press for the reveal are incredibly dark. Dark, dark, dark.
And second, I will not be able to play this once the gravity goes off. Just watching it happen in the gameplay demo from the show made me queasy. I’ve been on a zero-G flight before and managed to keep my insides inside, but the idea of trying to focus on shooting somebody in the dark while doing it? That’s OK. I’ll just stick to spaceships.
Here’s the demo video. They lose gravity around 6:45.
Not for me. If it’s for you, here are a couple more really dark screenshots for you to stare at.

If they pull this game off its going to be spectacular, if not? It will still probably be a decent game
The more I hear about Star Citizen the more I wonder if they are going too wide in features. Sure it’d be great if they pull off all of them to spectacular detail, but it’ll be a stretch.
Why don’t future scifi shooters based on spaceships have a zero g option for both both single & multiplayer?
was the main player using a control pad? He was terrible at keeping his sights on the enemy.
The game looks amazing
No, but he did just go through a 17 hour flight and was probably drinkings… they actually had a whole bunch of high end mini-ITX rigs on stage in those baby Corsair Obsidian cases with K95’s and M65’s to match… they gave me one of the mouse mats 😛
