Dark Souls II Sure Looks Better On The PS4

The folks at Digital Foundry have put Dark Souls II through its paces. Here's how the PS3 version compares to the PS4 one.

In the above video, you can see how textures, frame rates, and lighting stack up. The difference is quite noticeable, to say the least.

In case you missed it, here isKotaku's review of Dark Souls II for the PS3.

I really wish this comparison included a bit from underground. Remember the original pitch-black demo of DS2 that had to be scrapped for technology reasons?

I am very concerned about some of the changes that come about as a result of the frame rate. When running at 60fps in the PC version, some mechanics are affected - such as weapons degrade twice as fast, the rolling 'gap' for evasion is halved. Did you notice anything like this, @markserrels?

Also, it just sounds like they are adding in more enemies to make it harder from the very beginning. In reality it just sounds like this will throw things off balance and push it to unfair :/

I read in the reddit thread about this video that the FPS linked mechanics are still doing the buggy things.

        Interesting read on this: http://www.reddit.com/r/DarkSouls2/comments/2wsy2i/for_new_players_regarding_durability_bug/

This was the first thing I thought when I saw animations were much smoother (and most likely 60fps). Would love some confirmation on whether the problems plaguing the PC version are affecting the PS4 version. Or did FromSoft actually fix thier FPS based code for the PS4?

I get it. I want it. If it's done then why are we waiting??

Can you compare the 360 v xbone?

Check to see if the folks at Digital Foundry have a video up. You would have to ask them if they haven't got one planned.

Ahh I want it so bad, I don't get why we don't have this now while we wait for Bloodborne, because I will never get around to DS2 between Bloodborne, Witcher 3 then MGS in June.

Same game looks better on PS4 than PS3? STOP THE PRESSES!
