We get a lot of Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren cosplay around here, but master props builder Shawn Thorsson has turned his eye towards one of the cooler and more obscure designs from Force Awakens: the new TIE pilots.
Beginning with 3D models, Thorsson built a few suits from scratch, making everything from the helmets to the chestplates.
You can see more progress pictures at Shawn’s site.

Look more authentic than TFA movie, which for some reason decided that Tie fighters had air.
Tie fighters in the OT had limited life support but not no life support. The new ones obviously improved aspects given they also have a rear gunner now.
Then why did no Tie fighter fire backwards at the X-Wings?
Because the ones with the rear gunners are the Special Forces TIE/SF Fighter. I assume the ones fighting the X-Wings are just normal TIE/FOs.

The end result is awesome but looking at that desk makes me feel a bit off.
That desk is the visual representation of nails on chalkboard.
