The company might be in the middle of a takeover battle with Vivendi, but that hasn’t stopped it from exploring other quirky ideas.
One of those ideas is the same path that Activision has taken recently with Skylanders. Namely, a Netflix series.
That’s the latest report from Reuters, which attended a news briefing where Ubi CEO Yves Guillemot added that they wanted to keep the company independent as much as possible.
There was no word on what Ubisoft would want to turn into a Netflix series, although it’s hard to imagine that Rabbids wouldn’t be considered. The French publisher turned the Rabbids creatures into an animated TV series a few years ago, with the latest episode airing late last month. Ubi has other IPs that could be interesting as well, like the Assassin’s Creed series, but we’ll have to wait and see whether that bares any fruit.

I look forward to having to pay more to see the characters with slightly different pants.
Personally I was looking forward to the treasure hunt for 100,000,000 map icons that tell the actual story.
Its not going to be a character driven story… cause Ubisoft only does multiplayer games now
It wouldn’t surprise me if they were planning an Assassin’s Creed series to complement the movie. Personally I’d be up for a Rayman series as long as it was done well, maybe in a similar fashion to Wakfu.
