In the latest AoT episode, titan-fighting trainees are hiding from the naked giants in a castle when — spoiler — the titans breach it. Reiner, one of the trainees, discovers the first titan like so:

    Finally got around to starting this season and I need to know..... Is it censored? It just seems a lot less gruesome than before. More cut away death scenes especially.

    That's the same direction the Manga took... Right about the time it was announced that it was becoming an anime iirc.
