Cuphead, the long awaited indie game beautifully animated in the vein of classic cartoons, will finally get released September 29 on Xbox One and PC.
Originally revealed at E3 2014, Studio MDHR’s boss-centric platformer focuses on tough combat rendered in the style of old animation studios like Disney, Van Beuren, and Fleischer. The game was planned for 2016, but slipped to this year due to the burgeoning size of the game.
In the game you play as either Cuphead or Mugman, with both single player and local-cop available, exploring Cuphead‘s world in search of weapons, special abilities, and hidden unlockables in order to defeat a crazy number of brutal bosses.
MDHR also revealed during the conference that the game will be part of Microsoft’s Play Anywhere program, meaning it can be bought on either Windows 10 or Xbox One and be played across both platforms.

Win10/xbox only eh? Welp, you just flushed a huge amount of your potential audience down the drain. Look at all the controversy around Infinite Warfare match making. NO ONE LIKES THE WINDOWS STORE. Bring it out on Steam like sensible people.
Speak for yourself. I would rather buy a game from the Windows Store I can play on both my Xbox or PC without having to buy it a second time – and also adding in Xbox game sharing, there is no reason I would want it on Steam unless its 1/3 the price so I could buy it 3 times.
Steam has been a stinking mess of software for a long time and had too much of a monopoly. Its about time things like the Windows Store, GoG and Origin take some of that away. Valve may actually innovate and do something good for users for once – or just improve their damn software.
It says it’s on Steam right there in the trailer you dip.
yay, been looking forward to this for ages.
