Community Review: Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled

Did you spend your weekend racing through Roo’s Tubes? Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled brought the classic kart racer back in a big way last Friday – and we want to know what you think.

For many (myself included), Crash Team Racing was the original and only racing game of their childhood, and there’s always an element of risk in bringing something so beloved back for a new audience.

But, by all accounts, Beenox and Activision appear to have pulled it off, with high praise heaped on the game since its release.

While the hefty loading times can be a bit of a pain in the ass, Nitro-Fueled is a loving recreation of everything that made the original game fantastic, and it injects a hefty (and much needed) dose of content into the game with its brand new customisation system and additional tracks from Crash Nitro Kart and Crash Tag Team Racing.

Every track has been given a stunning facelift, and a whole new world of choice is available to players with new karts, characters, vehicles – and even stickers. It builds on the original wonderfully, and even improves a lot of things, too.

So, how did you feel about Nitro-Fueled? Did you enjoy the changes? And to answer an age-old question – is it really a better game than Mario Kart?
