Rewatch Nintendo’s E3 2019 Direct Here

The last one. But certainly not the least: a new Animal Crossing, whatever weird crossover ends up in Smash Ultimate, and more Pokemon Sword & Shield. Plus that little Fire Emblem game. Just a few things, really.

And by a few, I mean a few hundred. The Switch is arguably the most popular indie platform right now, and Nintendo loves jamming its Direct pressers with a ton of the games. So,

What games will be there

This weird bloke and his creative genius, for one. That’s Animal Crossing, in case the face doesn’t ring a bell.

We’ve mentioned a few first-party games, but also expect:

  • Luigi’s Mansion 3
  • Detective Pikachu (Switch)
  • Pokemon Sword & Shield
  • Fire Emblem: Three Houses
  • Super Mario Maker 2
  • Smash Ultimate
  • Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
  • Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
  • Astral Chain
  • Daemon X Machina
  • Town (Gamefreak’s RPG that isn’t Pokemon)
  • Upcoming Nintendo Switch Online games/exclusives
  • Mario Kart Tour (we’re due for a global release)
  • Final Fantasy remasters (with FF8 announced just now)
  • Animal Crossing Switch
  • Dragon’s Quest XI / Dragon’s Quest Builders 2
  • Untitled Goose Game (in the indie section)
  • Bayonetta 3 (PlatinumGames are working on it, so there’s a slim chance we’ll see it)
  • Metroid Prime 4 (I’m hoping on this one)

And that’s not including all the new indies/Switch ports that always get a run.

Nintendo @ E3 2019: How to watch

Image: Kotaku

YouTube is usually the best bet with Nintendo – and you can watch the stream below right here. There’s Twitch as well, if you want.

Everything kicks off from 0200 AEST / 0000 AWST / 0400 NZST / 0130 ACST. But we can all sleep afterwards.

Well, you can. I can’t. But let’s not worry too much about that.

What do you want to see the most from Nintendo’s E3 2019 Direct?

  • The only thing I want to see in Nintendo’s E3 Direct tomorrow morning is Spyro Reignited Trilogy coming to the Nintendo Switch on September 3 when Activision make this announcement tomorrow.
Another thing I also want see in Nintendo’s E3 Direct tomorrow morning is Banjo and Kazooie getting announced as our second DLC for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
And hopefully Atlus bringing us the original Persona 5 for the Nintendo Switch.

  • I’m staying up for this one, work be darned.
I just need to know who the next SmoBro guy is. I can’t take it any more.
The next 4 if Sakurai is feeling generous.

  • Holy fucking shit
like I was disappointed with The Hero was announced, not that they don’t look cool as a character, but because I thought it meant that was our one DLC character for the direct and it was done. It meant that the leakers were right, and that the odds of my chosen boy/girl were dead
but then that fucking last surprise reveal
when we saw it was DK
and the whole thing was a parody of K.Rool, the other never-ever
it was worth staying up for.
