What Are You Playing This Weekend?

Almost always, the weekend is the best for nostalgia trips.

Something I’ll be checking out over the weekend is the beta for Kartrider: Drift, the sequel to the Korean Mario Kart-esque MMO. I remember a few Counter-Strike friends getting hooked on Kartrider, having discovered the game because they’d also gotten hooked on PangYa!, the over-the-top Korean golfing MMO.

KartRider isn’t really like Mario Kart – that’s just the easiest way to describe it. There’s actually a little more in common with fighting games, especially with the defensive item usage. The drifting mechanics aren’t as sticky as Mario Kart either, and the sense of scale between the karts and the tracks gives the game an extra dimension of speed.

KartRider‘s cool, so I’m keen to see how the sequel is shaping up. Beyond that, I’ll be smashing out more drafts in Gwent, which is probably the best CCG I’ve played on phones. Until Legends of Runeterra drops next year, anyway.
