SMASH Brings Manga, Anime, Games, Cosplay, Maids Together

photo08_002SMASH stands for the Sydney Manga and Anime Show. It’s on this weekend. But what’s it all about?

It’s where Australian manga and anime fans, artists and creators get together to share their passion for the artforms. There’s a whole bunch of art-related contests, a fanfic comp, and cosplay exhibitions to enter.

Gamers are well catered for with tournaments running across a host of games, including Street Fighter IV, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Rock Band. Ubisoft will also have their own section showcasing playable version of Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash Up.

There’s even a Maid Cafe (see pic).

It’s at the Roundhouse at the University of New South Wales. Doors open 10am Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $20 and $18 each day.

Oh, and don’t forgt to send your cosplay pics to us!
