There’s a bit more going on this week. While we’re a week behind the US when it comes to Ni No Kuni, there’s still some JRPG-ish goodness to be had, as well as a decent offering on the PC.
Strike Suit Zero
What is it? Dogfighting in space with a mini Gundam styled suit.
Should I care? The game claims to have a mix of small dogfights and large-scale fleet battles. Your suit can switch between “Pursuit Mode (speed and power) to Strike Mode (a powerful, highly maneuverable combat mode)”, which kind of sounds like the same thing.
The Cave
What is it? Exploring a giant cave with multiple adventurers, using their abilities together to solve puzzles.
Should I care?Do you regularly cover your mouth and chuckle when you hear the word “poo”, or “bum”? This one is the latest from Ron Gilbert and Double Fine, meaning the emphasis will be on silly jokes rather than gameplay.
DmC Devil May Cry (PC)
What is it? PC version of the fast-paced action game, focusing on lengthy, skillful combos.
Should I care? There’s a strong argument for getting the PC version, even if you have to wait a bit longer. On PC, DmC will run at 60 frames per second in 1080p, as opposed to 30 FPS and lower resolutions on the consoles.
Path of Exile (Open Beta)
What is it? Diablo styled click-em-up made in New Zealand, entering its long-awaited open beta.
Should I care? If you love making things die by clicking on them, and were perhaps a bit disappointed with Diablo 3, this one looks pretty fun. Plus, open betas are free!
Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes (iOS)
What is it? Positional, turn-based RPG combat with animated cutscenes for attacks.
Should I care? It looks like fun, with a bit of depth. There’s a bit of discrepancy when it comes to quality, depending on which Metacritic rating you pay attention to – ranging from 76 on the PC, to 86 on the DS.
The Sims 3 70’s, 80’s and 90’s Stuff
What is it? Retro gear for your little Sims.
Should I care? Instead of locking your mini-people in a room with no toilet, doors or windows, now you can include a speaker playing Rock Astley on loop. What’s not to love?
