In hindsight I think I made yesterday’s haiku unfairly difficult. It’s only fair that I add an image to help everyone out.
But first off — here is the haiku…
A simulator
See the American Flag
What a silly name
And here’s the image.
Good luck!
This is HaiTaku. We write haikus about old video games and leave it you to guess what game we’re talking about. If you want to submit a Haiku feel free. Send it here!

Biker Mice from Mars!
🙁 I’m finding all of these games way too old. I’m 23, which is around the average on this site I’d wager. I either didn’t play most of these games, or I don’t remember the names of half (probably the former).
Good luck all!
Im 28 but my maturity level is about that of an 18 yr old. So yeah, it works out to be about 23.
But a lot of the games go back as far as Amiga games (80s) before i was even born. So its pot luck imo. That being said, im pretty confident today is biker mice from mars
Anything before 1995 is pure luck if I know it. 🙁
I’m 31 and I’ve got no clue what this one is.
Much older than that. Still no clue with this one.
yeh I’m 33 and have no idea, but also a lot of Indie games go for that retro look these days which can potentially stump us.
I wouldn’t wager too much on that :oP
In saying that, I’m 36 and I don’t have a clue with this one either
Just hit 35 – I can tell you it really looks like a crack screen from C64. Loved those things and they had some of the best SID music.
And sampled speech on the amiga ones “Yo ho Yo ho a pirate’s life for me! Yo ho Yo ho a pirate’s life for me!” etc
im 28, i remember some of these games
I don’t know if you were here when the midday game was Remember This, but it was like 90% Amiga/C64. When Serrels says retro, he means RETRO- none of this “anything before the year 2000 is retro” stuff.
As it happens, my childhood console was the NES so the Amiga/C64stuff rules me out too. But I have a lot of fun making completely wrong guesses anyway.
Whenever he says retro there’s a 89.4% chance it will be a spectrum game…
Oh yeah, I should have said Amiga/Commodore 64/Spectrum.
I can’t remember him ever doing something like a Colecovision game, at least.
Its “Hello” The Lionel Ritchie experience
I’m dancing on the ceiling now that somebody got it right.
The only game where your character having skin that looked like clay was actually entirely realistic
Army Moves
It looks like one of the old intros from cracked C64 games – Some of them were really cool. Which is why I think the answer is…
Rockstar Ate My Hamster
Awesome game.
I’ll go with Headcoach. American flag at the start, silly name, simulator.
Not sure where that screen fits in, though, looks like a cracking screen intro you’d get before the game.
As a completely random guess. CyberJudas?
Screenshot looks a bit stylistically similar to Dan Dare 3: The Escape, but that’s not a sim.
One last guess then getting back to work.
“Ninja Scooter Simulator”
Little Computer People.
rats beat me to it
That image is really familiar, I’m sure I’ve played this game but can’t for the life of me recall what it is.
