Crotchdot strikes again. Yesterday’s haiku was Navy Seals, thanks to Welbot for clarifying that it was, indeed, the Atari ST version.
Today’s effort comes from Geregh!
It’s the first level
On a world famous island
Iron and copper
Good luck everyone…
This is HaiTaku. We write haikus about old video games and leave it you to guess what game we’re talking about. If you want to submit a Haiku feel free. Send it here!

Deus Ex
Merchant Prince?
Maybe an Uncharted Waters game.
Super Mario Land?
Runescape? (Who remembers Tutorial island!)
That’s a great guess!
I did think of that, but tutorial island ores were copper and tin. Maybe the haiku is wrong though.
Alcatraz? Rolling with the Navy Seals/Atari theme from yesterday?
Myst?
Deus Ex!!
“Iron and copper” is the password you’re given to meet a contact on Liberty Island, where the first level of Deus Ex is set. The Statue of Liberty is copper on an iron frame.
AHHH! Well done, I had forgotten that, awesome. What a cool first level it was too, I must have replayed that at least… okay, only three times, but really cool. Man now I want to fire it up again – downloading via Steam now (rather than using one of the 4 disc copies I have lying around here).
I couldn’t believe it took so many posts before someone got it!
Had I been here at midday…
Biker Mice from Mars!
