This Week In Games: Child Of Light

This week is the equivalent of finding a $20 note in your jacket pocket. I forgot about this, hurray! I totally forgot that Child of Light was coming out this week, but here it is! I am excited!

BloodRayne Betrayal

What is it? This is a side-scrolling slasher that came out in 2011 on consoles. So surprised to see this just coming out on PC…
Should you care? I don’t think so.

Child of Light (Xbox One/PS4/PC)

What is it? A supremely gorgeous JRPG style platformer that is also an attempt to create a modern fairytale.
Should you care? It’s the game I’m personally most excited about this week. Impossible to understate how goddamn good it looks.

Croixleur Sigma (PC)

What is it? A hack and slash game with a JRPG aesthetic and one of the most horrible fonts I’ve ever seen.
Should you care? Personally, I think this looks a little bit cheap and naff. I’m passing on it.

Daylight (PS4/PC)

What is it? Describes itself as a procedurally generated psychological thriller where the only source of light is your phone. Whoa. It’s also the first game to use the Unreal Engine 4.
Should you care? Well, I don’t know about you, but I think this sounds like a cracker idea for a game. Hopefully it lives up to the concept.

Mario Golf: World Tour (3DS)

What is it? Mario is playing golf with all his buddies in tow. You know the drill.
Should you care? It’s not that this game will be bad, in fact it’s probably quite good. It’s just… I don’t know. Maybe it is worth playing, but it’s not something I’ll be buying.

Slip (PC)

What is it? It’s sort of like Ikaruga, but a platformer. Which means it’s sort of like Aussie made game Fractured Soul.
Should you care? I think this looks great. I think you should investigate, particularly if you like the idea of a platformer that’s sort of like Ikaruga.

What are you planning on picking up this week? Let us know in the comments below…
