Not a great week for new releases — but what did you expect? It’s E3 for crying out loud.
But there are a handful of games coming out this week. Literally a handful. You could probably fit them in one hand if you balanced them right.
Dead Island: Definitive Collection (Xbox One/PS4/PC)
What is it? It’s Dead Island. The old ones. But made prettier.
Should you care? Eh, nah. Probably not.
Envoy 2 (PC)
What is it? Some sort of sci-fi spooky thing set on a Mars space station. Yes I’m being reductive.
Should you care? It actually looks pretty incredible from a visual standpoint. Worth taking a look.
On Rusty Trails (PC)
What is it? A fast paced platformer ala Super Meat Boy.
Should you care? Looks nice and polished. People have been saying nice things about this one.
Pro Cycling Manager 2016 (PC)
What is it? A game about managing a cycling team I guess. It’s taking all of my willpower to not make a joke about performance enhancing drugs.
Should you care? I could slag this off, or I could recognise this is a niche game that serves niche interesting. I used to play football management games all the time.
Valentino Rossi: The Game (Xbox One/PS4)
What is it? It’s a Moto GP game. These games are few and far between.
Should you care? If you’re into Moto GP this is most likely as good as it gets.
Did we miss anything? Picking anything up this week? Let us know in the comments below.

The description of Dead Island is fair and accurate. (it’s now been fixed, it was blank for a while)
Yup. I installed the definitive edition. Got to the part of choosing your character and realised I really did not want to play it again, ever.
This week isn’t about new releases – it’s about free shit – so far this week there’s been Free
System Shock 2
Rocket League free weekend (I may be forced to buy it now the kids absolutely love it!)
Free EA access
Free Limbo
There was even free Fallout 4 for half an hour last week!!
Still to come there’s a likely Halo Wars beta and probably more demos by the end of the week!
Halo Wars. Gimmeeeeeee
I just spent about 2 days downloading almost 50gb worth of NBA 2K16 because it’s free on PS+. Played one game which was enough to remind me that I fucking hate basketball and have no interest whatsoever in playing this game.
I’m thinking the same thing. I finally have an internet plan where I can download large games, but I don’t know if I can be bothered with NBA 2K16. I haven’t played a basketball game sine NBA Jam on the SNES. HE’S ON FIRE!!!
On the otherhand, I am looking forward to playing Gone Home.
Yeah, I love NBA Jam. Mainly because it’s nothing like real basketball 😛
Free demo of DOOM too.
Wot.
Where can I get System Shock 2 free??? D:
GOG
Download their Galaxy client
The only other thing I have noted down is Bard’s Gold for PS4/Vita.
Grand Kingdom was supposed to be out for Vita and PS4 but something has gone very wrong with its release and while NIS was saying the European release this week was unaffected, both PSN and stores are saying it’s now released next week. The Odin Sphere: Lefthraisir demo didn’t come out last week either so who knows what’s going on with that.
In other words, I have more time to finish Valkyria Chronicles Remastered before Grand Kingdom, Odin Sphere: Lefthraisir, Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Star Ocean 5 all release in the same fortnight.
