Knights Of The Old Republic Looks A Lot Cleaner Now

Microsoft has brought a bunch of Xbox original games to the Xbox One consoles, one of which is the excellent Knights of the Old Republic. And if you haven’t played KOTOR on console in a while, good news: it’s looking a lot cleaner.

Overnight, a bunch of Xbox classics finally became available on the Xbox One consoles (and, when it’s out, the Xbox One X). The list includes games like Sid Meier’s Pirates, Bloodrayne 2, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Ninja Gaiden Black.

For brevity, here’s the full list:

BLACK
BloodRayne 2
Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
Dead to Rights
Fuzion Frenzy
Grabbed by the Ghoulies
King of Fighters Neowave
Ninja Gaiden Black
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Psychonauts
Red Faction II
Sid Meier’s Pirates!
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Playing old games in 2017 is easier said than done, however. Not everything holds up well, and while KOTOR does work just fine on modern PCs, consoles, tablets and phones, it’s not everyone’s piece of cake.

That’s especially true of the original Xbox version, which was a lot blockier and muddier than its PC counterpart. Fortunately, Microsoft has cleaned up a good deal of the visuals for KOTOR‘s backward compatibility launch, and it’s a solid improvement.

If you still have the original KOTOR disc, this is what you can expect when you pop the game into your Xbox One/Xbox One S. Alternatively, you can grab the game digitally for $14.95 through Xbox Live.
