So, for a little while at least, there was a plan for Daybreak’s Dimension Ink studio (DC Universe Online) to develop an MMO based on the Marvel universe. That game, whatever it was called and however it was shaping up, has now been cancelled.

Marvel Heroes Developer Gazillion Apparently Lays Off Everyone On Thanksgiving Eve
Gazillion, the studio behind the embattled Marvel Heroes, has apparently been shut down today, with all staff laid off the day before Thanksgiving. As a result the game will also be closing early; originally due to end in December, it will now cease operations on Friday.

Marvel Heroes Stops Selling Fantastic Four Stuff
The Fantastic Four aren’t getting a lot of love in Marvel Comics at the moment, and now that lack of love looks to be extending to Gazillion’s massively multiplayer Marvel Heroes. Starting July 1, players will no longer be able to purchase Fantastic Four characters or costumes.
