The Latest Halo 4 Trailer Is Being Put Together By Fight Club Director David Fincher

Wait, what. The David Fincher? The David Fincher who directed incredible movies like The Social Network, Fight Club and Zodiac? He's helping 343 Industries produce the Halo 4 launch trailer? Man, I've never been more excited for a piece of marketing collateral in my life!

Just for the record, David Fincher isn't directing the trailer, he's producing it and letting Tim Miller direct, but Fincher's involvement is a real testament to the power of the Halo brand, and its place in popular culture. Pretty incredible.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to direct the 'Halo 4' launch trailer in creative partnership with 343 Industries and David Fincher," said Miller, an acclaimed visual artist who worked on Scott Pilgrim vs The World. "Halo is one of the most iconic sci-fi universes, with a depth that allows for amazingly cinematic and emotionally riveting stories. The chance to tell a story that explores never-before-seen facets of Master Chief's journey is an honor. Our goal is to deliver a blockbuster, Hollywood-quality trailer that raises the bar for the award-winning legacy of live-action 'Halo' storytelling and gets fans stoked for the return of Master Chief."

The trailer is set to make its debut on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' on October 18.

"As a studio, we’re incredibly excited to be working with one of Hollywood's most acclaimed directors and one of its top visual effects leads to bring our creative vision for the launch trailer to life," said 343's Frank O'Connor. "Their involvement is a testament to the significance of 'Halo' as a pop culture touchstone, and we think fans are going to be blown away when they see the final piece."

Can't wait.

I hope Master Chief is not subjected to 100's of takes for this trailer...

Huh, I just got excited about Halo 4. Marketing does work!

I kind of wish people would stop using famous directors who don't really understand the game and generally end up doing a terrible job. LOLGW2LOL.

Tim Miller is directing. Although I wasn't a fan of the movie but visually it was impressive he did the visual effects for Scott Pilgrim vs the world

seriously, i love the idea of big budget directors and writers getting involved. I mean, these people got to where they are by being good, and a lot of them do genuinely have an interest in video games. Can only help in my opinion.

This is serious 100% holy-shit-worthy news! I want to see this damn trailer!

    Let's hope it's not just a stunt...

Getting big real directors to do this sort of stuff only helps legitimise out industry. Helps the more average person see or hear about it in their NON-gaming news articles. I enjoyed Fight Club.
