Aussie Nintendo Store: Beaver Patrol

Retro fans look away now – there is nary a Virtual Console game out this week. Instead you’re treated to a range of new WiiWare and DSiWare games. Let’s see what you could be playing.

WiiWare

Robocalypse – Beaver Defence (600 Wii Points): The tower defence genre you all know and love, this time with the addition of robots and beavers. No, get your mind out of the gutter, not those ones. There are also units that can move around the battlefield rather than just being stationary. Despite the silly name, it’s actually not too bad and won some awards back at E3 2009 for best of show. At 600 Points, it seems a safe bet.

DSiWare

A Topsy Turvy Life: Turvy Drops (200 Points): Another puzzler for the DSi sees you drawing blocks and turning your Nintendo DSi upside down to drop them. It’s like drawing Tetris, but upside down. For 200 Points it’s a neat distraction; luckily it’s not anymore than that.

Music On: Electronic Keyboard (200 Points): Ever wanted an electronic keyboard on your Nintendo DS? Well now you have one. Different electronic instruments, rhythms and sound effects are available for your musical enjoyment.

There is also a new Flips interactive book title out and that’s Flips: The Folk of the Faraway Tree for 500 Points. Also, if needed, another Sudoku game is up in the form of Crazy Sudoku for 200 Points.

A cheap week this week with nothing over 600 Points, will you be splashing down any?
