Game Over, Yeah? NO! SEGA Rally Online Arcade Announced!

Just when you thought it was game over, yeah for the Sega Rally franchise, they slot some coins into the machine and press restart with SEGA Rally Online Arcade, which was just announced today.

SEGA Rally Online Arcade is a downloadable title that will be made available on Xbox LIVE and the PSN at some point in 2011, and features a number of new online modes, in addition to the time trial style racing the franchise is known for.

“We’ve blended our hit arcade racing series with the best elements from the console versions to bring our fans the SEGA Rally experience in compact, downloadable format,” said Haruki Satomi, Vice President of Digital Business at SEGA. “Whether they’re new to the SEGA Rally series or they’ve participated in countless races over the years, we’re confident everyone will enjoy the wide variety of features included in this fan favourite.”

New features include online leaderboards, a Championship mode and, of course, the online racing mode which allows you to play with up to five other racers online.

We’re a little bit excited about this, having enjoyed a misspent youth plunking lunch money dollars into SEGA Rally during high school. Check out some of the new screens below.

Post over, yeaaaaaah!
