Nnooo All Set To Develop For The Wii U

I’m a big fan of Sydney based developer Nnooo. I really enjoyed its last game escapeVektor, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the team put together for the PS Vita. Now it has recently announced it has received approval from Nintendo to develop games for the Wii U. Since Nnooo is well known for utilising the unique aspects of consoles, it’ll be interesting to see what the team has in mind for the Wii U tablet.

“We’re thrilled to receive developer approval for this exciting new console,” said Nic Watt, Creative Director at Nnooo. “We can’t wait to see what the console is capable of and already have a number of ideas we’d like to experiment with.”

The last time we visited Nnooo’s office it was covered in post-it notes and designs for Spirit Hunters Inc. Apparently the studio’s priority is to finish that game, release it on the 3DS and PS Vita, then do some sexy, sexy prototyping for the Wii U to see precisely what’s possible.

“We’re very close to finishing Spirit Hunters Inc and escapeVektor,” said Nic. “We’ll be showcasing the games at Gamescom in Cologne in the middle of August. Once these games are completed we’ll be prototyping some ideas for the Wii U to get a feel for what we can do. We’ve already had a quick play with the hardware and everyone in the studio is super impressed by the GamePad and the capabilities of the Wii U itself.”
