Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies Is Coming This Spring

Ace Attorney 5 will get the ridiculous title Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies for the West, and it'll be out on 3DS as a digital release this spring.

That's right, a digital release. Hope you've got a big SD card: Phoenix Wright's new adventure ain't coming on a cartridge, according to Capcom's announcement today:

SAN MATEO, Calif.May 13, 2013 — Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed that Phoenix Wright™: Ace Attorney™ - Dual Destinies will be available to purchase digitally on Nintendo 3DS™ across Europe and North America in Spring 2013.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies, previously announced for the West as Ace Attorney™ 5, sees the return of courtroom hero Phoenix Wright. Set eight years since his last appearance in the courts, the first case in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies sees the action start in a destroyed court room. It’s down to Phoenix Wright and his team at the Wright Anything Agency to discover the cause of the destruction. Players will have to battle it out in court against Gaspen Payne, the younger brother of Winston Payne from previous Ace Attorney™ titles, as they defend the accused.

"Dual Destinies" is OK, but they really should've found a third D to add on there, Dream Drop Distance style. It is the 3DS.

Since I got FE digitally since there was a draught of copies first print, I'm already trapped in Nintendo's Web of Incompetent Online Services. ™ So, you know, I guess it makes no difference to me. However, not having the box art is a sad thing because they're normally very straightforward and slick. And the name is crappy. I mean, it sounds like something you'd slap unto the end of a DS port of a RPG.

Seriously, Justice for All and Trials and Tribulations were great titles. How hard is it to make up a snappy title like that with a bit of court buzzwords thrown in? Verdict & Victory? Law Never Lost? Defiance & Defence? Jeez, these names write themselves.

      Truth and Turmoil sounds fantastic.

Sooo, spring 2013 means Summer 2014 for Australia yeah?

Let's hope not, it says Europe and NA, and usually AU release date is simultaneous with EU or a day after. Thank god for our PAL region buddies? or our ancestral ties with her majesty/first fleet etc.

I believe that the phoenix wright game will be coming out in spring

Maybe they should of gone for a more relatable title like, Ace Attorney - Physical Copy Turnabout.

      +1 for you!
On topic though, we just need layton vs now and another title I'm sure everyone else is aware of and we're set.....for now :p

I refuse to buy games digitally on 3DS until they can guarantee that I'll still be able to access my games if I have to switch to a new system.

I agree its a shitty way of going about things... but this is Phoenix. I will take it any way I can get it.

Only if they don't expect us to pay more than retail prices for it like they do with most digital releases.

But wait a second, isn't it already Spring 2013 in EU & US?

    "Pinpoint unusual feelings?"

Ugh we better not have to pay $69.95 for it....
Other than pricing concerns, this is great news!! :)

This really makes me mad, but nonetheless I'm going to have to buy the game anyway...

Coming to North America and Europe in Spring 2013? Isn't that now?

Unless it means OUR Spring. In which case, I am disappointed for the wait...
