Well, I complained about there not being enough games getting released last week. I wish I hadn’t bothered. This week the floodgates have well and truly opened. Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, a bunch of other stuff and, oh, Saints Row IV is finally set for release this week.
Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs (PC)
What is it? A license to make a big dirty mess of yourself.
Should you care? Yes, but play at your own risk. Amnesia is a scary, scary series!
Around the World With Hello Kitty and Friends (3DS)
What is it? It’s a Hello Kitty game for the 3DS
Should you care? Yeah… nah.
Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan (3DS)
What is it? An actually-really-quite-good JRPG that should have been released here ages ago.
Should you care? Well, it’s taken long enough to get here but fans of JRPGs should get on this.
Farming Simulator 2013 (360/PS3)
What is it? Exactly what it says on the tin.
Should you care? You know, I won’t judge. Some people genuinely love this kind of thing. You’ll know if you’re the target market or not!
Huntsman: The Orphanage (PC)
What is it? A greenlit Steam game that’s actually quite creepy looking. We already have Amnesia to deal with this week, give us a break dammit!
Should you care? Seems interesting. I don’t know enough about it to recommend it though.
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX (PS3)
What is it? A HD remix of Kingdom Hearts with a heap of other content chucked in with it.
Should you care? Yeah, fans of the series might like to check this out.
Legends Of Dungeon (PC)
What is it? Another of those them there greenlit games. There are a heap of them now.
Should you care? It has the whole ‘pixel art’ thing going on. I like the look of it — apparently it’s pretty good.
NHL 14 (360/PS3)
What is it? A sports game!
Should you care? Do you like sport? Do you like this sport in particular? If not give it a miss.
Puppeteer (PS3)
What is it? A ‘charming’, ‘whimsical’ platformer.
Should you care? This has flown right under my radar, but I’m quite keen to check it out.
Rayman Legends (PS Vita)
What is it? Perhaps the best platformer of the year, now on Vita/
Should you care? There are missing levels on the PS Vita version, but apparently that’ll be fixed at some point. Still: this game is special.
Turbo Super Stunt Squad (Wii U)
What is it? A movie tie-in.
Should you care? Nope.
Saints Row IV (360/PC)
What is it? It’s that game we’ve been writing about for all the wrong reasons. It’s here! It’s finally here
Should you care? Yeah, it’s good. You might be holding out for GTA V by this point though.
The Elder Scrolls Anthology (PC)
What is it? It’s a collection featuring all the Elder Scrolls games.
Should you care? This is a cool collection. Worth it for Morrowind and Skyrim alone in my opinion.
The Sims 3: Movie Stuff (PC)
What is it? Will they ever stop making these Sims 3 add ons?
Should you care? Probably not. EA likes money.
Volgarr The Viking (PC)
What is it? A 16-bit style side scroller. Apparently it’s tough.
Should you care? I’d investigate this one. I’m skipping it, but you might be interested.

It’s worth mentioning that the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix contains the Final Mix version of the game and the PS2 version of Chain of Memories, neither of which have been released in Australia before.
This Week In Games: Saints Row IV… Finally
… but not for PS3… The troubles with the Classification Board won’t really hurt Deep Silver/Volition in the long run, as most Aussies would have imported, but they really are sending the game to die at this point.
Ridiculously keen for Puppeteer! The premise and art style look amazing.
Will also get Rayman Legends also, but would like to know more about when they expect to have the patch ready for the missing content.
Oh no… too big a week, and then GTA V the week after… eeeeeep
And Killzone Merc is taking up heaps of time already, its too soon to leave that game alone to play something new
So Saints Row IV has now been moved to this week for PC, the hell.. Oh well, gives me something to play before GTA V next week.
I’ve been playing SRIV for a week now (ozgameshop) and it is damn good. It’s like Saint’s Row 3 and inFamous had a baby.
And Prototype 🙂
Really? My preorder still hasn’t shown up yet.
I’m picking up The Elder Scrolls Anthology for the maps alone.
Also, I picked up Saints Row for Xbox from OzGameShop. I haven’t played such an unstable console game in a long time.
PS3 version is no better. I’ve had lots of freezes requiring a console restart, fallen through the ground, had cars spawn stuck halfway in the ground… sometimes I’m not sure if things are deliberate glitches in the “simulation” or in the actual game.
Have you got the latest patch for it yet? I was getting a full system freeze every 20 mins or so but didn’t get a single one after the patch.
Legends Of Dungeon is really a great little indie game. especially for local couch coop in my opinion. I backed it when it was a Kickstarter, played it already quite a bit in alpha (which was already really polished from the very beginning). If you like the retro gaming style, hack and slash and wearing a cat on your head as your headgear, then Legends of Dungeon will be a good choice 🙂
My wife pointed out that this year, apart from the games we’ve picked up that I haven’t played yet, we still have about five games we haven’t bought yet on top of Saints Row IV and GTAV which are coming out. I think the only game I’ve finished this year was The Last of Us. IT IS SEPTEMBER. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME.
Gah… why is it every time there’s a gaming drought, I only ever manage to settle into a nice RPG two weeks before the drought ends? Next year, I shall endeavour to plan better.
Bought SR4 on steam then pirated it so i can play. it is awesome fun
Also got ahead of Saints Row IVs release by importing.
It’s been terrific fun! And glad I got a good couple of weeks with it before now.
I think if I’d waited for it to be released here it’d conflict too much with my GTA V playing.
But reckoning I’ll be mostly done with SRIV by then.
Nothing for me this week on account of stuff coming next week.
Could not be more excited for Kingdom Hearts. 🙂
Not gonna bother with SRIV. Don’t care enough. Having too much fun with Payday 2 at the moment.
I’ll be waiting for a GTA V PC release personally. If that means I have to wait forever (which I doubt), so be it.
