Wakey wakey! It’s time for While You Were Sleeping, where we take a look at the news you might have missed overnight. But what do we know — maybe you stayed up all night looking at Kotaku. Who are we to judge…
We post a lot of video game art on Kotaku, but I often think it doesn’t get the attention it deserves. When I spoke to Bungie’s head of art last month he said something that stuck with me. Before the Activision deal, Bungie pitched Destiny to some Hollywood folks. Afterwards, the execs told him that video game studios always have the best concept artists in the business.
Anyway — check out the art of Battlefield 4 and meet the charming lovechild of Ocarina of Time and Ico.
I loved Sensible Software. I loved Sensible Soccer in particular, so I think I will actually read this book about the rise and fall of the studio. Well worth checking out.
Think you can wait for Assassin’s Creed 4 on PC? I’ll be waiting for the next gen version I think.
And finally, this is how EA Sports made the best golfer in the world irrelevant.

But I don’t wanna wake up. Is it Saturday yet?
Interesting comment on concept art. Makes sense, I guess movies can just compile a sample reel instead?
And waiting for ACIV? I can definitely wait to play it on next gen some time later in 2014. Been burnt too many times by that series now.
Yep, I’ll be holding off. Particularly after ACIII being such a dud.
Why are some big name titles delaying the release of games to PC? with Rockstar also refusing to announce if GTA V will make the transition. Is that because PC games have a more complex development or do they assume that the quickest way to make a profit is by publishing straight to consoles?
