What Nintendo’s E3 Would Have Been Like In Tomodachi Life

What Nintendo’s E3 Would Have Been Like In Tomodachi Life

Last week in my review, I described Tomodachi Life as “a bizarre, alternate universe where everybody had giant heads and spoke in ghostly robotic warbles”. If that’s not weird enough as it is (and it’s already pretty weird), imagine a veritable chorus of Nintendo developers chirping and prancing about in Mii form to hawk their latest games.

That’s just what Nintendo did in this thoroughly bizarre new video that shows a succession of key developers on upcoming Nintendo games like Yoshi’s Woollen World and Splatoon introducing their work, in song form, at the concert hall at the center of Tomodachi Life. My favourite has to be Shigeru Miyamoto head-banging furiously while talking up the GamePad. Or should I say…Miiyamoto? (See what I did there?)

“You’re confused, I know,” Miiyamoto sings at one point. I sure am. But I also sort of wish all the company’s Nintendo Direct addresses were this intense.
