Even if you don’t want to play Driveclub, you most likely should look at it. Because good lord, in the hands of the right photographer, it can look genuinely beautiful.
These photos were posted by FaerieStories on Reddit and I’m just sort of staring at them.
Actually the more I think about it, the more I think that these photos are just aesthetically pleasing with or without the video game cars. The cars aren’t really the star of the show, the game is. The whole package. I’ve never really been interested in playing Driveclub, but now I want to give it a shot.
You have to check out the rest of these shots. They are fantastic.

Someone should do some awesome shots in Rocket League.
Yep, it definitely needs photo mode! Although, I do need to work on my wall/air game a lot more before I’ll be able to do some awesome shots.
I really wish Driveclub hit the ground running rather than facing all the issue it did. It is a fantastic game. Along with those stunning graphics, it’s great fun to drive. Hopefully now that the PS+ version is available, many more people will give it a go.
Yeah, I bought it a couple months back, and (once I finished downloading the 11Gb or so worth of updates) I found it to be a fantastic arcade racing game. Not perfect (AI is garbage, car selection is a bit odd ie lack of Japanese cars, and car damage is pretty limited and cosmetic only), but heaps of fun and absolutely extraordinary looking. Certainly worth the $30-something dollars I paid for it.
When you say arcade do you mean that there are certain features that are similar to more traditional ‘arcade’ racers like Burnout and SplitSecond, in contrast to simulators like Forza and Gran Turismo?
I mean the car handling is a lot less realistic than the GT’s and Forzas of the world. It’s not as arcadey as your Burnout or Ridge Racer type games, either. I’d put it somewhere in between. Maybe around the same place as Race Driver Grid.
Same here, the game is now really, really great, first thing that pulld me away from Forza.
I love the weather effects.
I just can’t get past that car list.
Meh, the next Gran Turismo (2020?) is where it’ll be at!
Cool I think that the new gran turismo
The game is just top gear racing, long long straights with killer bends.
No grace or real racing skill involved.
Looks incredible in photo mode though.
After the dissapointment that was Project Cars I am still waiting for that end all racing game to play with mates. Last gen it was Burnout Paradise, the free roam and coop challenges kept us busy for hours on end. So far, nothing in current gen 🙁
Yeah Project Cars was a massive disappointment I took it back to the shop.
My issue with Driveclub is that it’s simply seems too ‘fast’ and ‘arcadey’.
Powersliding around corners at high speed might be “awesome”, but it takes away from what really does look like a hyper realistic racing game.
Yeah burnout doesn’t try to be realistic it knows it’s silly and capitalizes on it. Driveclub seems to have a bit of an identidy crisis
The cars do look good.
Shame there’s so few of them. Like, i can drive the Renault Clio but not the Pulsar SSS Hatch? They’re basically the same car.
