Some Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Concept Art Appears

Late last year it was revealed that Shadow of the Tomb Raider would be the name of the next Tomb Raider because, well, a developer was working on a deck for the game while riding the Montreal subway. And over the weekend, concept art for the next Tomb Raider appeared.

The image appeared as part of a portfolio for TakeOff, a creative agency based out of Los Angeles with a history in producing trailers, collectibles, websites, trophies, animations and press kits for publishers. Over the weekend, “Shadow of the Tomb Raider Logo and Key Art Exploration” popped up:

“Through sketches and renders, we explored varying concepts for the Shadow of the Tomb Raider logo and key art,” the description said according to a cached version of the page. “This process consisted of using the different pillars of the game as inspiration to accurately portray the brand.”

The images are helpful because it gives everyone a visual idea of what Eidos Montreal might be going for with Shadow of the Tomb Raider. You can’t read too much into that, however, and you also can’t gauge how far along the project is. But it’s good to see more Lara nonetheless: her presence was sorely missed during E3 this year, and it’ll be good to have her back on our gaming screens before too long.

Don’t open up confidential information in public. Especially don’t do it a on a crowded subway.”]

Kotaku Australia has contacted Square Enix’s local PR team for comment, but did not hear back by the time of writing.
