How To Get Red Dead Redemption 2 Through EB For $29

Red Dead Redemption 2 will finally be playable as of tomorrow. Locally and digitally, the RRP is close to $100 – but if you’re savvy, there’s a way to pick it up for $29.

EB Games is offering another tasty trade-in deal for Rockstar Games’ cowboy simulator, Red Dead Redemption 2. If you hand over two used games with a minimum trade-in value of $10 each, EB Games will give you Red Dead Redemption 2 for 29 bucks. Depending on which games you trade in, this works out to a saving of up to $50.

The list of eligible games is pretty comprehensive and should include anything released over the past 12 months or so. Here’s a small selection of games that are expected to qualify, courtesy of the guys at OzBargain:

  • Arms
  • Assassins Creed Origins
  • COD Ghosts
  • COD WW2
  • Dead Rising 4
  • Destiny 2
  • Far Cry 5
  • Final Fantasy XV
  • Forza Horizon 3
  • GTA5
  • Horizon Zero Dawn
  • Far Cry 4
  • FIFA 18
  • For Honor
  • The Last Guardian
  • Minecraft: PS4 Edition
  • Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
  • Metro: Redux
  • NHL 15
  • No Man’s Sky
  • Uncharted Lost Legacy
  • Wolfenstein 2

If you don’t own any of the games above, simply call up EB Games and list the games you do own to find out what they’re worth. According to EB Games there are over 700 second-hand titles that qualify.

Naturally, this deal is only worth considering if you have games at the lower end of the trade-in scale. (Brand new releases can fetch up to $30 a pop, for example.) Definitely check the trade-in value before you make the swap.

With that said, if you have a few duds lying around (or games you’re not likely to ever play again), this is a great way to score RRD2 on the cheap. The deal ends on November 1 so we suggest getting it this weekend (which we know you’re all going to do anyway.)

Alternatively, Amazon Australia has it for $62. If you want to hold onto your existing games collection this is probably the best price you’re going to get locally. The deal also includes free delivery.
