This Week In Games: Fire My Wolfenstein Emblem

It’s time for a proper Fire Emblem that you can play on your TV, and it’s about damn time.

Tegan’s already been warning me that she’s going to vanish into her Switch for the next week, although fortunately Fire Emblem: Three Houses isn’t out until Friday. (It’s nice that Nintendo games aren’t launching on Saturday anymore.) If you don’t have a Switch, there’s also a new Wolfenstein to pay attention to in Wolfenstein: Youngblood. PSVR fans are getting a piece of Wolfenstein action as well with Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot on Wednesday.

Outside of the big franchises, a few PC indies are getting retail console releases this week. Resort Boss: Golf, which let me down earlier this year, is going to be on EB shelves for $14.95 from Friday. Kill la Kill the Game drops this week as well, and a host of smaller titles are hitting Xbox this week.

Oh and there’s that new Picross game. And Raiden V on the Switch. Some Commodore 64/Amiga classics are launching on Steam. Moonlighter and This War of Mine are free on the Epic Games Store this week.

So much for a quiet July. Here’s the lineup:

  • Pawarumi (Switch, XBO)
  • Furwind (XBO)
  • Tetris Effect (PC, Vive, Rift)
  • Fire Emblem: Three Houses (Switch)
  • Tetsumo Party (Switch, XBO)
  • Decay (XBO)
  • Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom (PC, Switch)
  • Wolfenstein: Youngblood (PC, PS4, XBO, Switch)
  • Redeemer: Enhanced Edition (PS4, XBO)
  • Kill la Kill the Game (PS4)
  • Resort Boss: Golf (PC Retail)
  • C64 & AMIGA Classix Remakes Sixpack 3 (PC)
  • Under What? (PC)
  • Rise: Race the Future (Switch)
  • High Noon Revolver (Switch)
  • Run the Fan (Switch)
  • Automachef (Switch)
  • Picross, Lord of the Nazarick (Switch)
  • Raiden V (Switch)
  • Songbird Symphony (Switch)
  • Fobia (Switch)
  • Fantasy Strike (Switch)
  • Super Mega Baseball 2 (Switch)
  • Switch Force Collection (Switch)
  • Terrorhythm TRRT (Switch)
  • Titans Pinball (Switch)
  • Zombie Driver Immortal Edition (Switch)
  • Swords & Souls: Neverseen (PC)
  • Space Warfare (PC)
  • Flappatron (PC)
  • Aura (PC)
  • Seventh Circle (PC)
  • DATE A LIVE: Rio Reincarnation (PC)
  • Gekraxel (PC)

Onto the videos! We’ll roll straight into Three Houses, because everything that our US friends has captured so far looks tops. Indie trailers and gameplay will follow after that.

Lot in the mix this week. Automachef seems like a neat, quirky puzzler for people who enjoy systems building, but Fire Emblem, Tetris Effect, Flappatron, Wolfenstein and some of the other indies look great.

See anything you like this week?
