Overwatch arrives on Switch on October 16, and while we all await its arrival with baited breath, there’s now 10 meaty minutes of gameplay to dive into, courtesy of GameSpot.
Gameplay looks smooth and crisp in handheld mode, and the footage captured is actually pretty good. While some of the visuals do look a little bit murky and less crisp than Overwatch‘s PC counterpart, for the most part, it holds up really well! And with a console that’s capped at a 1080p output, there’s always going to be a slight drop in visual fidelity, so there’s nothing too unexpected here.
There likely isn’t a single person left on Earth who hasn’t played Overwatch at this stage, but for those that are yet to dip their toes in the water, the Switch looks like it’s the perfect place to start with the game. Unfortunately, given that Overwatch is an always-online game, you won’t be able to take full advantage of its portability to play it your daily commute, but you can always bring it to work and enjoy an action-heavy lunch date with the game.
Personally, I can’t wait to get my hands on my hot wife Ashe once more.
