World Of Warcraft Leak Includes Showdown With Sylvanas, Burning Crusade Classic

A leak surfacing the day before Blizzconline’s opening ceremonies revealed possible details of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands’s first major update.

First appearing on Wowhead and MMO-champion.com, the leak states, “In Chains of Domination, the upcoming first major content update for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, players will delve into new depths of the Jailer’s hopeless domain, seeking to understand the true nature of his malignant plans.”

Updates to Shadowlands include:

  • A new zone: Korithia, City of Secrets
  • A new raid added to Torghast: the Sanctum of Domination
  • A New Broker-themed “mega-dungeon” (whatever that means) Tazavesh, the Veiled Market
  • Flying!!
  • Players will be able to “come face-to-face with the Banshee Queen herself in a fateful confrontation”

It’s unclear if that confrontation means players will be able to fight and kill Sylvanas so soon after launch or if this is just one of many showdowns with a main Shadowlands’ antagonist.

But wait! There’s more! In a move many fans probably expected, the Burning Crusade will reportedly be added to WoW Classic, giving players the opportunity to experience WoW’s first expansion as it launched in 2007. Interestingly, the leak reports that, before release, players can opt-out of Burning Crusade content and migrate to Classic-only servers. All the end-game content from Burning Crusade will return in a phased roll-out, so don’t expect to get access to The Black Temple, Sunwell, and Zul’Aman raids all at once.

Blizzard has declined to comment at this time.

  • Yeah, I’m not really seeing much evidence in support of their 4D-chess claim that they’re not throwing yet another Horde leader under the bus by turning Sylvanas into Garrosh 2.0.

    • It doesn’t even matter if she has a change of heart or some shit at this point… It has been the most painfully awful, slow played storyline in the entire history of Warcraft.

I can’t wait to see them somehow drag her whole deal out to the next expansion as well while patting themselves on the back for such an engaging, emotional and ‘unique’ storyline.

  • Its possible Sylvanas won’t die, considering they gave Jaina God-Tier plot armour for her turn as raid boss. Interestingly theres a bit missing from the spoiler section thats essentially pointing to Anduin being one of the main raid bosses, and leaked artwork of him with a very Lich King look. Maybe they’ll be looking for a new King of the Humans? Or just turn the Alliance into Tyrande and her merry mooks.

  • I get that it makes sense for future expansions, but I really can’t imagine anyone playing Classic opting out of Burning Crusade.

    • BC and Wrath were easily the most fun I’ve ever had playing WoW, and by a monumental margin compared to other expansions.

I am curious how they’re going to handle things down the line if it gets to that point, because splitting the Classic playerbase further and further per expansion seems pretty much unworkable.

Makes me wonder if some sort of fast track cycle Classic servers could eventually be the solution… A clean server wipe with expedited release times for the major patches, expansions, etc.
