Because Beat Takeshi is in the new one. That’s why. What the hell else do you need?
The Yakuza games have always been very, very good with Japanese celebrity casting. This, however, might be the best choice yet ever.
This Yakuza 6 footage was originally shown in a closed theatre at the Tokyo Game Show, but was recently uploaded to Niconico Live.
With an impressive filmography of Japanese gangster films like Sonatine and Outrage, Takeshi’s appearance is logical, if not overdue.
Yakuza 6 will be out in Japan in fall 2016. And in the West? Who knows!

How about a western release date in the same decade as the Japanese date? We still haven’t got Yakuza 5 yet, and I’m not going to be going back to my PS3 for long enough to play a game that big. By the time we get Yakuza 6 I’ll probably have moved on to PS5.
It’s a shame, really, because I loved Yakuza 3 & 4.
Battle Royale and Battle Royale 2. That is all.
So like.. H1Z1 with Asian models?
can anyone recommend a good game to enter the series that wont leave me going “what the fuck happened in the previous games?”
You can start out with Yakuza 3. They’ve got recap videos available, but the story is pretty good at explaining your main characters past and launching the new one. Don’t start with 4, as that’s got multiple main characters and things can get confusing.
Nope. If you’re not shaking your head muttering “WTF?!” every hour or so, you aint playing a yakuza game (or kojima game, as much as i love them). So many weird little quirks n minigames.
