SonicFox Suffers Day One Elimination From Injustice 2 World Championship

In a shocking turn of events, Dominique “SonicFox” McLean was eliminated from ELEAGUE’s Injustice 2 World Championship last Friday after losing twice to Christian “ForeverKing” Quiles during the first day of competition.

McLean cited audio issues as “detrimental” on Twitter shortly after his first loss, but gave props to Quiles for playing “amazingly well” in a statement to us. According to McLean, he relies on a number of audio cues while using Batman villain Red Hood and was unable to hit basic combos without proper sound. “I also need audio to keep myself calm, relaxed, and in the zone,” he added.

This marks only the third major Injustice 2 event in which McLean has finished outside of first place, and his worst performance since placing fifth at Evo 2017 in July. He admitted later that his focus right now is in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, and he plans to take a short break from Injustice 2 until next year’s competitive season begins.
