Leon Kennedy And Chris Redfield Co-Star In Resident Evil 6

As teased at NoHopeLeft.com and GameStop advertising materials, Resident Evil 6 is officially coming this November, bringing the series two most popular male leads together for the first time.

Taking place some 10 years after the Raccoon City incident that started this whole business, Resident Evil 6 begins with the President of the United States about to reveal the truth behind the incident to the world at large. Unfortunately he instead transforms into something hideous due to a bioterrorism attack, causing his personal friend and bodyguard Leon S. Kennedy to clean up the mess.

Meanwhile Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China to deal with a bioterrorism attack there. Nowhere is safe. We’re all going to die.

Resident Evil 6 represents a giant stride forward in the evolution of the series,” commented Katsuhiko Ichii, Head of R&D and Global Marketing via official press release. “The development team, led by Hiroyuki Kobayashi, is working tirelessly to deliver the most impressive Resident Evil title ever both in terms of scope and production values. We are all genuinely excited by the title and cannot wait to share it with the world.”

The evolution of Resident Evil begins on November 20 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The PC revolution will follow soon after.

Perhaps tonight’s special Resident Evil event in San Francisco will shed more light on the ambitious sixth chapter in the world’s most beloved survival horror series.

    Sigh.
I know Resident Evil is primarily a console title, but I see this happening more and more.
The only exception I can think of is The Witcher 2, which is now being adapted to 360, which wasn’t CDP’s original intention. They’re stating this delay from the outset.

As much as I enjoyed RE5, I would prefer regular zombies than the crazed rioters of los plagas. Although they do fit with the whole bioweapon theme of the game. I mean, who would be satisfied with creating shuffling moaning rotting corpses if they’re out to make a weapon?

When did Leon suddenly get such a pansy haircut? Since Res Evil 4, he’s suddenly turned emo. It’s about time the developers gave him a short back and sides, and number 5 on top.

Oh yeah! Gears of Evil: Modern Biofare 6!

…I’m just kidding, it actually does look good and a better leap forward that Resident Evil 4 was (rather then what 5 wasn’t).

I like the shoot or move mechanic.. it makes it far more exilerating.
Stops it from being another generic shooter.

        So excited for this =)

Yeh really doesn’t bother me either. Much more risk involved when shooting which is good for horror!

I’m going to be really disappointed if a “giant stride forward” doesn’t involve actually being able to walk while you shoot. The Dead Space series proves that you don’t have to lock your character in place to build horror and tension.

The burning cars at 0:09 in the video looks an awful lot like the very beginning of the leon playthrough of Resident Evil 2

So from what I can gather, Chris’s story = shooter-style action and Leon’s story = creepy survivor horror? Seems like they’re trying to meet fans somewhere in the middle. Looks great.

I do wish we didn’t get Chris for two RE’s in a row though. Gimme Claire!!

Leons story is set in Tall Trees (I believe, could be wrong) small town in america. If this is set 10 years after Raccoon City Im interested to see how this starts up. Chris airdrops into China. It seems like you can run/walk and gun. Also if you notice towards the end of the trailer Leon does a lunge forward, flips and lands on his back whilst still shooting, possible dodge/roll/evade improvement from Resi 5? Third playable character it seems in the short haired Merc who gives all his swagger. Zombies are making a come back but they seem more like the Crimson zombies in terms of faster movement. B.O.Ws like terrors spawned from the G virus seem to also be making a comeback. FINALLY Zombies are back in Resi! No more “UN FARA STEROS!”

Very excited. I do enjoy myself some Resident Evil… though it seems odd that they would bring back Chris again. He’s been in 5, Revelations, and now 6 all in a row. What about Claire? Maybe someone new?

Not that Chris isn’t cool, just thought we’d get someone new or that we haven’t seen in awhile.
