A lot of great games came out in May, from reboots of classics to new team-based shooters to the end of a dashing adventure series. Take a look at some of our favourite games from the last month.

Overwatch

In this team-based multiplayer shooter, actually playing the game feels like such a small part of the overall experience. The characters and their fandom have formed a world that will stick with players both while they’re playing and once they have turned the game off.

The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine

The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine is a grand goodbye, a final series of stories that sends Geralt off into the immaculately rendered sunset. It’s a literal fairy tale ending for gaming’s favourite monster-massacring curmudgeon.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Uncharted 4 is a wonderful finale for Nathan Drake’s globetrotting adventures, featuring gorgeous locations and memorable characters.

Doom

In looking back to the past, id Software has made something that feels thoroughly modern, full of the speed, freedom of movement and bewildering number of enemies that has always made Doom so intense.

Total War: Warhammer

A strategy game that, almost from start to end, is a challenge in the best sense of the word.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan

The single player aspect of the game nails the tone of the animated series well. However, online cooperative is where this fighting game really shines.

Stellaris

While the dovetailing of a traditional 4X experience and Paradox’s grand strategy designs hasn’t quite come together like it should have, Stellaris is still a slick, fast strategy game that always keeps you busy.

Fallout 4 Far Harbor

This DLC brings players an entirely new landmass to explore, full of excellent plot twists and big payoffs.

Battleborn

Battleborn features an awesome intro that it follows up with a single-player campaign, competitive multiplayer, and memorable characters.

StarBreak

A free side-scrolling, permadeath MMO, StarBreak‘s mix of silent collaboration and almost (but not quite) mindless action really hit the spot.

Push Me Pull You

Push Me Pull You is a multiplayer game that basically asks what would happen if CatDog joined the high school wrestling team.

Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright and Conquest
