Pokémon games are always released in Japan months before they make their way to Western markets. It’s not conspiracy; instead, it’s because developers GameFreak like to make sure Pokémon names truly mean something, regardless of the language used.

156 new pokemon, ~170 days to name them all, even assuming they only start work after the Jap launch thats 1 day per name.
They obviously REALLY like making names, or having long coffee breaks. -

I think it’s good that they actually take the time to get the names right. If they just translated them we would have names like Freezer, Thunder and Fire for Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres (respectively). lol

Yeah, it’s nice to know they try to put the effort it, but we still ended up with “Abomasnow”.

They should seriously start hiring some of the fans that make them on the web. There some immensely creative stuff out there but in the recent games it looks like the team have been pretty uncreative or just plain lazy.
