Nintendo president Satoru Iwata just said that a new Smash Bros will release for the company’s new console, the Wii U, as well as for 3DS. No specific time frame was given, but Iwata said the game will feature cross platform compatibility.

But will it be SSBM decent, unique and balanced fighting game style or SSBB fun enough but shallow party game style. I still play Melee every month with mates, don’t even own Brawl *shudder*

The team who might work on it is currently working on something else.
This isn’t coming in the next 12 months unless they really do the mother of all rush jobs.
But then again, they unveiled their new console with no actual games!!!!
I’m more than a little concerned this will have a launch like 3DS.
I am so disapoint Nintendo. So disapoint!

Smash Bros. on the Wii U? Awesome. Smash Bros on the 3DS? Enjoy your character being maybe 40 pixels high when it zooms out in a 4-player match on a 3.5″ screen.
