Plenty of folks seem to dismiss Gears of War as a dumbed-down, ‘dudebro’ shooter – but I’ve always felt like the team has done a fantastic job of building a believable universe around a few innovative, consistently fun mechanics. This look at the mind behind the Gears universe is interesting, because it gives us an idea of the effort required to build such a universe, and shows how committed the team is to maintaining it.
I’m quite excited about RAGE, despite the fact it hasn’t quite gotten the level of hype I think it deserves. This hands-on is worth reading if you have any interest in the game whatsoever.
