So, How Well Does Darksiders II On Wii U Actually Run?

Let's say you don't yet own Darksiders II, do own a Wii U, and are considering picking the game up for your new console. How's it shape up against the versions that have been out on the market on competing platforms for a few months now?

Like most other games, it's not really a clear-cut case of the new Wii U edition being any better or worse. Some parts, according to a report on Digital Foundry, feature better effects, while other parts are missing models or have lower-res textures.

The video above, compared the PS3 and Wii U versions, while DF's full report goes into great detail contrasting all four editions, and includes performance graphs tracking things like framerate.

Face-Off: Darksiders 2 on Wii U [Eurogamer]

The title of this article could also have been "So how much effort did Vigil Games actually put into the Wii-U version of Darksiders 2?"

What I want to know is how many Wii U games are running in 1080p as opposed to 720p or less for most X360 and PS3 titles?

      That would be none.

        That would be wrong.
Although they aren't very intensive games, Scribblenauts, Nano Assault, and Trine 2 all run natively at 1080, amongst others.

He must have though sh0v0r said 'good games'.

The issue is that games that Nintendo promised would run in 1080 dont, like Arkham City, Assassins Creed 3, Mario, ZombiU and Mass Effect 3.

Unfortunately unless ZombiU (im not sure) is running in Native 1080p then there are no games on the Wii U currently running in Native 1080p. Dont forget there is plenty of room for improvement, the console just launched.

Is it just me or does Death look a bit like Skeltor if they just rebooted He-Man?

They look essentially the same to me, judging by the video. Maybe I don't have an eye for the finer details. Or maybe they're the same.

In the article they say its the framerate where the WiiU lags behind, apparently it sustains 18-20 fps for portions of the game.

Looks like it runs terribly on all consoles. Like most other multiplatform games. I don't know why, for the love of god people would buy anything other than first party titles for a Nintendo console in the launch window.

WiiU version looks a little sharper, appart from that they look the same
